Eduardo López Cabello, born in Chile, started his music studies in the Music Institute of the Catholic University of Chile in 2008. While doing his Bachelor in Composition with the Slovak-Chilean composer Aliocha Solovera, he was given the opportunity to start a second major while continuing his first major in Composition (Diploma awarded on 2011). In the year 2010 he started studying Choir Conducting with Alejandro Reyes. 

 

During this time, he followed masterclasses on both Choir and Instrumental Conducting with Paula Torres (Colombia), Néstor Zadoff (Argentina), Santiago Santero (Argentina), Saúl Saks (Denmark) and Felipe Hidalgo (Chile). 

 

In 2013, after already finishing his Bachelor in Composition, he decided to emigrate to the Netherlands to continue his studies in Choir Conducting.

Recently, on June 2017, Eduardo completed his Bachelor's in Music with specialisation on Choir Conducting under Jos Vermunt and Jos van Veldhoven, with a grade of 9, at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. 

 

Already established in Amsterdam, Eduardo works regularly replacing different conductor across the Netherlands (Frank de Groot, Arild Rohde, Peter van deer Leeuw, Krista Audere).

Currently Eduardo works with Voci d’Angeli  (Sept. 2014) a chamber choir focused in Renaissance music based in Blokker; Dissonant (Sept. 2016), a lesbian female choir in Amsterdam and IJlandenkoor (Oct. 2016) a chamber choir based in Amsterdam. 

From September 2017, Eduardo will start as assistant conductor to Boudewijn Jansen at Toonkunst Koor Amsterdam. 

During his studies in Amsterdam, he has started his vocal studies as Countertenor with Geert Berghs. 

Highly interested in Early Music, Eduardo has followed masterclasses in Mensural Notation and Modal Singing (2017) with dr. Rebecca Stewart and Andrés Locatelli, and in Mensural Notation (2015) with Stratton Bull, Pieter Stas and Christopher Kale ( Capella Praetensis).
